Paicos on Blizzard: ‘So Far, So Good’ in Foxborough (Video)

Foxborough officials received an update via conference call just after 5 p.m. Friday on how the town is managing Blizzard 2013.

As Foxborough Town Manager heard updates from Police Chief Edward O’Leary, Deputy Fire Chief Steven Bagley and National Grid Liaison Tom Coughlin regarding Friday’s blizzard, the message was clear: “So far, so good,” Paicos said. Over a dozen town officials and department heads were on the conference call just after 5 p.m. Friday. Here’s the most recent update of the town’s condition provided by public safety officials and department heads: Foxborough Police Say ‘Not Much Happening’ “There haven’t been any real significant calls,” O’Leary said. “The bulk of the community is paying attention to the Governor’s order about the 4 p.m. shutdown [and staying off the roads]. Paicos: Expect Multi-Day Power Outages in Foxborough Following Severe Transmission Damage

Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos called Monday night's news from National Grid "an incredibly frustrating situation" but "the focus for now must be on restoration of power and care for our citizens."

Here we go again. One year after two storms each caused multi-day power outages throughout Foxborough, residents must prepare to face a similar scenario in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, according to Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos Monday night. “Although Foxborough itself sustained what appears to be little damage, severe damage to transmission lines, which feed power to Foxborough sub-stations has occurred,” Paicos said following a conversation with National Grid president Marcy Reed. “Primary among these is the so-called Union Loop, which has suffered damage to 5 of its 12 sections. I did see one today--several different times-same truck-driving around town. It finally drove to Rte. 1 and took a left from North street toward Boston.   more ›
