Foxborough Boys’ Hoop Team Finishes Year as Neely’s Best

Foxborough boys’ basketball head coach C.J. Neely called his 2012-13 team “the best group” he’s had in six years at helm of the Warriors.

Each season, Foxborough High School boys’ basketball head coach C.J. Neely sets a team goal to win at least 10 games and qualify for the state tournament without using the Sullivan Rule, which allows for teams that play against higher division opponents during the regular season to only count games against the same division when determining postseason eligibility. The Warriors accomplished that goal in 2007-08 - Neely’s first season as coach of FHS – finishing the year with a 10-10 record. Since then, Foxborough had finished below .500 the past four seasons heading into this winter. OA Defense Too Much For Warriors

Andrea Marcotte led the Warriors with 11 points. Candace Steadman had 18 points for the Tigers.

Foxborough Girls Basketball Challenges Franklin

Ally Perry and DJ Quadrozzi both had eight points in the 54-37 loss to the Panthers.

The score may not say it but the Foxborough girls’ basketball team played better than expected against a talented Franklin Panthers team. Despite the 54-37 loss to the Panthers, the Warriors managed to show improvement against an undefeated Franklin team. “I’m looking at that as a win. I was very very happy with what the girls showed me tonight,” Foxborough head coach Lisa Downs said. Still playing center, Ally Perry continued to thrive in a position that she is not accustomed to. The junior forward who is who has been forced to play center due to injuries brought down 13 rebounds along with eight points to kept the Warriors in the game during the first quarter. “She’s doing well in there.
