Foxborough Town Meeting Passes Gillette Stadium Area Parking Bylaw

Foxborough Town Meeting bylaw designed to prevent unauthorized parking in the Gillette Stadium area.

  Three articles on the annual Foxborough Town Meeting warrant drew most of the attention Monday night. Town meeting was able to finish all of the articles in one night. Articles to eliminate unlicensced parking in the Gillette Stadium area passed, while an article to have towns pay the base salary difference between military pay and their town worker pay and one for a Stretch Energy Code bylaw both failed. Residents in the area of Gillette Stadium will face a $100 fine if they park cars on their property without a license during events at Gillette Stadium with a crowd of more than 15,000 in attendance. Foxborough Town Meeting Approves New Engine For Fire Department

Foxborough town meeting approved new fire engine to be funded by ambulance funds.

  The Foxborough Fire Department will be getting a new fire engine without taxpayer money. Instead, it will be just matter of getting the money out of the ambulance profits “There is a need to replace a fire engine,” said finance director Randy Scollins. “We will have the money from ambulance receptos, but it has to be the bank before you can pay for it. It will take 10 months to get the fire truck delivered, said Scollins. By then, the money will be available. “It will never leave the town,” said Scollins, Overall, town meeting approved $1,000,978 for the fire department for capital improvement. Foxborough Town Meeting Tonight at High School

Foxborough voters will deal with 30 articles on Monday's town meeting warrant.

  With the Foxborough election over and the casino project no longer in the picture, the town is now focusing on town meeting, which starts Monday night at the high school auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Voters will be dealing 30 articles on the warrant. Subjects to be voted on include town employees serving in the miltary receive the difference between their town salary and what they are paid in the services. Town manager Kevin Paicos, who is in the Army, said he will not be included in the plan. The proposal is to make sure town employees don't suffer financial hardships, while serving their country. Let them park the cars. If they have to deal with all the traffic, noise, air pollution etc. from stadium events, they should at least make some money off of parking cars on their own property.   more ›

  1. The annual Foxborough Town Meeting will take place Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Foxborough High School. There are 30 articles on the town warrant. 2. Nominations are under way the Foxborough High School today and Tuesday for class officers. 3. It will be Zumba time at the plaza at Patriot Place Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by Fierce Love Fitness Company. 4. The Foxborough High boys' lacrosse team will be traveling to Canton today for a 4:15 p.m. match that could decide the league title. 5. There will be showers today with highs in the upper 60s.
