Foxborough police are looking for a male suspect (pictured above) believed to be involved in a shoplifting incident that occurred Monday night at the CVS Pharmacy on Central Street. "At approximately 7 p.m. [Monday] a shoplifting offense occurred at the CVS Pharmacy on Central Street," police said via its Facebook page. "[The male suspect] entered the CVS Pharmacy, proceeded to the fragrance section, and attempted to open the locked display case. Unsuccessful, the male party proceeded to the electric razor display and used a device to deactivate the locking mechanism." Doherty, who served the department for over 37 years, passed away on May 8th.
The Foxborough Police Department announced Wednesday that retired officer Paul A. Doherty has passed away. “It is with deep sorrow that the Foxborough Police Department announces the death of retired Patrolman Paul A. Doherty on May 8, 2013,” police said in a statement issued on its Facebook page. “Paul served the citizens of Foxborough for over 37 years. Paul took great pride in being a police officer and in helping people. Two suspects arrested by Norfolk Police on April 19th are believed to be connected to a string of house breaks in the area, including Foxborough, according to police.
Foxborough Police say they have linked two suspects recently arrested in Norfolk to a string of house breaks in town over the past few weeks. Norfolk police arrested Rachel Burns, 27, of Attleboro, and Peter Genettis, 27, of Weymouth on Friday, April 19 in connection with a housebreak in Norfolk, according to Foxborough police. Foxborough police joined other area law enforcement agencies in assisting Norfolk with the arrest of Burns and Genettis, according to Foxborough police. Jewelry located in the suspect’s vehicle matched jewelry that was reported stolen from a house in Foxborough earlier in April, according to police. Foxborough Police announced Detective Sgt. Thomas Kirrane’s retirement this week after 40 years of service. The department held a farewell party for the longtime officer on April 30th.
After 40 years of service with the Foxborough Police Department, Detective Sgt. Thomas Kirrane has retired. The department announced the news on its Facebook page Tuesday and held a retirement party for the town's longest serving full-time officer. Kirrane received the following citations for his 40 years of service, each presented at the officer's retirement party on Tuesday, April 30th at the Foxborough Public Safety Building: Senator Timilty also presented Kirrane with the Massachusetts State Flag, which flew over the State House the week following the Boston Marathon Bombings. Foxborough Police responded to a startling scene at a liquor store on Route 1 Saturday afternoon.
There were no injuries reported after a motor vehicle drove through the entrance of Route 1 Liquor Mart at 29 Washington St. in Foxborough Saturday afternoon. "[It] could have been a lot worse than how this image [see above] portrays it," Foxborough Police said on its Facebook page. Police received a 911 call from Route 1 Liquor Mart at 4:51 p.m. Saturday reporting a car had crashed through the front of the building.
