Foxborough Moving Forward with New Rink at Sports Center

Foxborough's Planning Board sees no major problems in the planning process of a proposed third ice rink at the Foxboro Sports Center.

Foxboro Sports Center representatives came before the town’s Planning Board Thursday to review its plan to add a third rink to the East Belcher Road skating complex. The rink is proposed to be built adjacent to the current building where the parkin lot stands. Along with the rink, the plan will add an additional 110 parking spaces. The new lot will be built on a new parcel and will allow patrons to enter and exit from Spring Brook Road. The board’s reaction to the plan was generally positive, but some members voiced concerns regarding lighting, parking and traffic. Foxborough Committee Recommends Sale of Town Land to Raise Revenue

Foxborough’s Asset Review Committee recommends sale of five town parcels to improve its revenue stream.

Tasked with finding ways to monetize town assets that aren’t currently generating tax revenue, Foxborough’s Asset Review Committee has targeted five parcels to sell in auction. Foxborough Board of Selectmen Clerk Lorraine Brue, who also serves on the Asset Review Committee, recently briefed the BOS on the following five parcels the town should consider selling to improve its revenue stream: “We knew these assets could potentially generate additional tax revenues,” Brue said. “So in addition to getting the funds from the sale of the assets, the ongoing tax revenues going forward from the development of these properties could improve our revenue stream.” Brue says an appraisal of these five parcels from a “couple of years ago” estimates a …

Foxborough Boards to Consider Housing Production Plan

In a joint session, the Foxborough Board of Selectmen and Planning Board will be meeting June 28.

  The Foxborough Board of Selectmen and Planning Board will meet in joint session at the Foxborough Town Hall on Thursday, June 28, at 7 p.m. to consider a housing production plan for the town. Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) staff Jennifer Raitt, Chief Housing Planner, and Jennifer Erickson, Regional Planner, have spent over seven months preparing a draft plan for the boards’ consideration. This work is funded by MassDOT’s South Coast Rail project that will restore passenger rail transportation from Boston’s South Station to the South Coast of Massachusetts. Foxborough Residents to Hear Master Plan's Initial Findings

Residents invited to hear initial findings of Foxborough Master Plan Thursday night.

  (PRESS RELEASE) On Thursday, May 24, at the McGinty Room of the Public Safety Building, lead economic development consultant for the master plan for Foxborough Kathleen McCabe will present her team’s initial findings. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend, with registration starting at 6:30 p.m. and the program beginning promptly at 7:00 p.m. Funds to update the town’s over 40 year old master plan were voted at the 2011 Foxborough Town Meeting. Since that time, the planning board has been busy developing a scope, preparing a request for proposals, and selecting a consultant for the four exceptional responses. Foxborough Master Plan Survey Available Until April 22

This will be the last week to take the Foxborough Master Plan survey.

  The Foxborough Master Plan survey will be available on-line through Sunday, April 22. The surveys, one for residents and one for businesses, provide important information for the planning board and its consultants to design an economic development strategy for the town. You can take the survey by logging onto www.foxboroughmasterplan.com and clicking on survey. If you would like a paper survey, you can pick one up at the library in its temporary home in Chestnut Green, at the senior center, or in the planning board office in town hall. Paper surveys can be returned to the same locations. Call the Foxborough Planning Board at 508-543-1250 if you have any questions.
