Below is a recap of this week’s biggest headlines on Foxborough Patch: Over 1,000 Lose Power in Foxborough Friday Morning Over 1,000 National Grid customers in Foxborough woke up to no power Friday morning after arcing wires caused a “circuit to pop” on Main Street, according to Foxborough Fire Chief Roger Hatfield. “National Grid was on scene and it sounds like [the arcing wires] popped the circuit,” Hatfield said. The power outage took place at 6:29 a.m., according to National Grid’s website and affected 1,021 customers in the area of Main Street. Estimated restoration, according to National Grid was 8:45 a.m., but Hatfield informed …

Good morning Foxborough, Or is it Foxboro? Our poll question shows 23 of 49 voters (46 percent) prefer Foxboro over Foxborough but as town historian Jack Authelet says, "from the time our town was incorporated in 1778 until the present, we are a municipality with a dual identity, Foxborough and Foxboro, and we wear both names proudly. One is official (and to some, preferred), and the other more a matter of convenience, familiarity and habit, perhaps, but no less respectful." No matter how you spell it, I'm excited to arrive in town and serve as your local Patch editor. Before we get started, allow me to introduce myself.
