Foxborough Committee Recommends Sale of Town Land to Raise Revenue

Foxborough’s Asset Review Committee recommends sale of five town parcels to improve its revenue stream.

Tasked with finding ways to monetize town assets that aren’t currently generating tax revenue, Foxborough’s Asset Review Committee has targeted five parcels to sell in auction. Foxborough Board of Selectmen Clerk Lorraine Brue, who also serves on the Asset Review Committee, recently briefed the BOS on the following five parcels the town should consider selling to improve its revenue stream: “We knew these assets could potentially generate additional tax revenues,” Brue said. “So in addition to getting the funds from the sale of the assets, the ongoing tax revenues going forward from the development of these properties could improve our revenue stream.” Brue says an appraisal of these five parcels from a “couple of years ago” estimates a …

The following meetings and events will be held in Foxborough this week: Monday, Sept. 10: Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners, 4 p.m. in the Water Department Office of Town Hall: Foxborough's Water and Sewer Commissioners will go into executive session at the beginning of Monday's meeting to discuss, review and respond to the Kraft Organization's sign proposal and discuss possible sale of real estate assets with Town Manager Kevin Paicos and Town Counsel Richard Gelerman. Foxborough Residents to Hear Master Plan's Initial Findings

Residents invited to hear initial findings of Foxborough Master Plan Thursday night.

  (PRESS RELEASE) On Thursday, May 24, at the McGinty Room of the Public Safety Building, lead economic development consultant for the master plan for Foxborough Kathleen McCabe will present her team’s initial findings. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend, with registration starting at 6:30 p.m. and the program beginning promptly at 7:00 p.m. Funds to update the town’s over 40 year old master plan were voted at the 2011 Foxborough Town Meeting.
