VIDEO: Foxborough Girls’ Basketball Closes Out Hopkinton in Fourth Quarter to Win Warrior Classic

The Foxborough High School girls' basketball team defeated a talented Hopkinton squad, 48-41 to capture the Warrior Winter Classic championship. Next up: The MIAA State Tournament.

The Foxborough High School girls’ basketball team proved Tuesday it’s ready for the postseason after a 48-41 win over Hopkinton in the Warrior Winter Classic championship game. “[We] showed [we] could maintain composure going into the fourth quarter when [we] were down to a great Hopkinton team and [we] really stepped it up so I am really proud of [the team],” said Foxborough head coach Lisa Downs. Defense ruled the first quarter as both teams struggled to gain any offensive momentum in the opening eight minutes. Foxborough managed to gain a 10-7 lead on Hopkinton by quarter’s end but Hopkinton chipped away at deficit in the second and trailed the Warriors by just one (19-18) at halftime. Foxborough Wrestling Pins Mansfield, 27-22

Foxborough High School beat rival Mansfield, 27-22 Wednesday.

MANSFIELD – Foxborough High School topped Mansfield in wrestling, 27-22 Wednesday to spoil the Hornets' Senior Night. Mansfield was leading the match, 22-15 but was forced to forfeit their last two matches, which propelled Foxborough to the narrow victory.

PHOTOS: Foxborough Hockey Ends 6-Game Slide with Shutout of East Boston

Warriors defeated the East Boston Jets, 2-0 Monday at the Foxboro Sports Center.

Winless in their last six games, the Foxborough High School hockey team was determined to end the losing Monday night in a non-league contest against visiting East Boston. The Warriors were aggressive from the opening face-off, creating countless scoring chances and controlling the puck for the majority of three periods. Their hard work was rewarded by two Aidan Hyland goals and a perfect night in net by FHS goalie Melissa Almeida enroute to a 2-0 victory over the Jets at the Foxboro Sports Center. The Warriors are now 5-8-1 on the season and will travel to Franklin on Saturday, Feb. 2 for a 6:30 p.m. game.

Foxborough High School Names Chris Sullivan Head Baseball Coach

The former Foxborough High School baseball standout replaces Bill Sittig as the program’s head coach.

The Foxborough High School baseball team has turned to a former captain and team MVP to coach the Warriors in 2013. FHS Athletic Director Caitlin Brown has named Chris Sullivan head coach of the baseball program, replacing Bill Sittig, who announced in December he would not be returning for his third season. The Boston Herald first reported the news on Twitter. Sullivan has a lengthy and impressive baseball resume both as a player and a coach. The longtime RBI Baseball Academy employee most recently coached the RBI Hawks 15U team.
