Foxborough Boys' Basketball Season Ends Dramatically in Norwell Monday

#17 Foxborough lost to #16 Norwell, 41-38 in the preliminary round of the MIAA Division 3 South Sectional Boys’ Basketball State Tournament Monday.

NORWELL – In a state tournament game, one or two plays can often be the difference between advancing to the next round or ending your season. That proved to be the case Monday night in Norwell as the Foxborough High School boys’ basketball team’s season came down to its final possession. Trailing 41-38 with 15 seconds left in regulation, Foxborough head coach CJ Neely drew up the inbounds play to set his team up for a 3-pointer that would force overtime. “We got the exact look we wanted,” Neely said of the last possession. “We ran the play and got [Tim O’Halloran] open for three and just didn’t knock it down.” Foxborough quickly got the ball to Tim O’Halloran – who had already hit three 3-pointers in the game – in the corner for the game-…

PHOTOS: Foxborough Boys' Basketball Honors 6 Seniors on Senior Night

The Foxborough High School basketball team recognized its six seniors before Wednesday's game vs. Milford.

Prior to Wednesday’s game against Milford, the 2012-13 Hockomock League Davenport Division champions, Foxborough honored its six seniors. Alfred Henriquez, Nick DiTullio, Nolan Clagg, Josh Patkin, Brian Ellard and Alex Pacitti were recognized at half-court in front of family, friends and teammates. Patkin, a 2012-13 captain and three-year varsity player, became one of the most deadly shooters Foxborough has seen in many years. His shooting ability was on full display as a junior when Patkin scored 22 points on seven 3-pointers against a state ranked Stoughton team and in a 29-point outburst earlier this season against Bridgewater Raynham. PHOTOS: Foxborough Boys' and Girls' Basketball Sweep King Philip Friday

The Foxborough High School boys' and girls' basketball teams picked up a pair of Hockomock League (non-division) wins Friday.

It was a clean sweep Friday night for the Foxborough High School boys' and girls' basketball teams as each squad took care of business against King Philip. The boys' beat KP, 55-42 in Wrentham while the girls' cruised to a 60-43 win over the Warriors in Foxborough's home opener. GIRLS BASKETBALL: Foxborough 60, King Philip 43 The story in Foxborough Friday night was the Warriors' energetic defense that sparked a 25-8 run in the second quarter enroute to a 60-43 victory over King Philip. Foxborough's Ashley Snyder netted a game-high 25 points and Katherine Tamulionis chipped in with nine to lead the Warriors to a 2-0 start.
