The Foxborough High School baseball team earned the 18th seed in the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional state tournament.
The Foxborough High School baseball team earned a postseason berth under first year head coach Chris Sullivan via the Sullivan Rule (no relation) with a 5-13 record and will take the field in the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional preliminary round against No. 15 Norwell (10-10) Thursday. Stoughton capitalized on three Foxborough errors in the second inning to plate five runs enroute to a 7-0 victory over the Warriors Wednesday afternoon at Foxborough High School. Stoughton’s Jake Gibb and Pat Raeke opened the second inning with back-to-back hits off FHS starter Josh Patkin. A Foxborough error put Kaleb Ballou on to load the bases with no outs and a second error on a ball hit by Jovani Pires plated two to get The Black Knights on the board. A ground out by Pat Jackman scored Ballou from third. Foxborough’s third error in the frame made it 4-0 followed by an RBI double by Mike Connelly to push the lead to 5-0. Foxborough High School Athletic Director Caitlin Brown says she has high expectations for all the Warriors spring programs in 2013.
You might not be able to tell from the fresh coat of snow around town but the spring sports season officially began at Foxborough High School Monday as teams could begin practicing in Massachusetts. After a successful winter season that saw five programs participate in the postseason, Foxborough High School Athletic Director Caitlin Brown is expecting great things from the Warriors this spring. “I have high expectations for all of our spring programs,” Brown said. The former Foxborough High School baseball standout replaces Bill Sittig as the program’s head coach.
The Foxborough High School baseball team has turned to a former captain and team MVP to coach the Warriors in 2013. FHS Athletic Director Caitlin Brown has named Chris Sullivan head coach of the baseball program, replacing Bill Sittig, who announced in December he would not be returning for his third season. The Boston Herald first reported the news on Twitter. Sullivan has a lengthy and impressive baseball resume both as a player and a coach. The longtime RBI Baseball Academy employee most recently coached the RBI Hawks 15U team.
