Former Patriot Matt Light Mingles with Local Students at Southeastern

Former Patriots offensive tackle Matt Light on head coach Bill Belichick: "He rarely smiles, but he does laugh."

Former Patriots offensive lineman Matt Light was at Southeastern Regional in Easton Wednesday morning promoting his nonprofit, the Light Foundation. Light took time to mingle with some students and talk about the upcoming cornhole tournament at Gillette Stadium to support his foundation.

60 Donors Give Blood in Foxborough to Boost Brigham and Women's Blood Supply

This drive was especially important in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings.

To mark National Volunteer Week, the Brigham and Women’s/Dana Farber Blood Mobile visited Foxborough on April 25th. Over 60 donors, made up of business leaders, healthcare staff, patients, and the general public, turned out at this important drive, which replenishes the blood supply at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This was especially important in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Johns: Foxborough Veterans Will Not Be Impacted by Easton’s Departure from District

Crossroads Veterans’ Services Director Michael Johns said the district will meet Tuesday, April 30th to discuss the future of the district with Easton’s expected departure in June.

On Monday, Easton officials announced the town will be leaving the four-town Crossroads Veterans’ Services District in June and plans to hire its own full-time veterans’ agent. Easton’s decision, according to Crossroads Veterans’ Services District Director Michael Johns, will have no impact on the other three towns – Foxborough, Norton and Mansfield - involved in the district. “Foxborough will continue to serve its veterans, war widows and dependents in a high quality manner, as the town has become used to over the last three years,” Johns said. “[Foxborough] will not be impacted by Easton's decision.” Johns said the Crossroads Veterans’ Services District Board will meet Tuesday, April 30th at 6:15 p.m. in Conference Room 3a/b of Mansfield…

Uncertainty Looms for Foxborough Officials as Sequester Deadline Nears

The sequester would automatically go into effect Friday, March 1 unless Congress takes action to stop it.

With uncertainty as to whether $85 billion in federal sequestration spending cuts will be stopped by Congress before Friday, it is unclear what impact it may have on Foxborough. Without action from Congress, the sequester would go into effect automatically on March 1, reducing spending by the state in a number of areas, including education, the environment, health, military and law enforcement, the White House said. The White House recently released a statement outlining the impacts the sequester would have state-by-state, including Massachusetts. Foxborough Town Administrator Kevin Paicos told Foxborough Patch he is unaware of any impacts the sequester may have on the town's budget. Paicos did say, however, that federal grants for …
