Retiring Barney Frank will be succeeded by scion of Kennedy political dynasty.
Joe Kennedy III will be a new U.S. Congressman from Massachusetts. At around 9:30 p.m., the Associated Press called the race for 32-year old Kennedy, who lives in Brookline, as he was beating by a 2-1 margin Norfolk Republican Sean Bielat in the race to represent the redrawn Fourth Congressional District. Rep. Barney Frank, a media celebrity Tuesday night at Kennedy's celebration party at the Newton Marriott Hotel, is retiring after serving the Fourth District since 1981. Yes, the Kennedys are a famous political family, but Joe III especially follows family tradition with this particular win: his father, Joe Kennedy II, served as Congressman from Massachusetts (in the 8th Congressional District) from 1987-1999. And his great-uncle, who …

Fourth District Democratic candidate Joe Kennedy III announced earlier Wednesday three general election debate appearances, including a spot on WCVB's "On the Record" and a candidates night on the Wellesley College Campus. A few hours after Kennedy's announcement, Fourth District Republican candidate Sean Bielat responded to the debate announcements with a letter stating he was "disappointed" to see Kennedy agree to only three debates. In his response, Bielat said he has accepted 16 debate offers to date. Kennedy will face Bielat in the Nov. 6 general election for the Fourth Congressional District seat currently held by Barney …

Joseph Kennedy III, a candidate for the 4th Congressional District, which includes Foxborough, stopped by the Foxborough Fire Station Thursday afternoon to meet with local firefighters.
Joseph Kennedy III said the best part about his campaign for Congress in the Fourth District has been getting out into the communities and meeting the people he hopes to represent in Washington. On Thursday, Kennedy did just that when he visited with local firefighters for over half-an-hour and toured the Foxborough Fire Station. The Fourth District candidate took the opportunity to learn more about the challenges the town’s first responders face and how he can help. “It’s a community that is extremely tightly knit and also stretched because of the needs of Gillette Stadium and the pressure that is put on the first responders to try and meet those needs of having 70-plus thousand people come into your community, basically, 50 times a year…
