Scott Brown Backs Combat Roles for Women in U.S. Military

The Massachusetts senator separated himself from the Republican rank and file by asking Secretary Panetta for more military opportunities for women.

Sen. Scott Brown, R-MA, attracted national attention Wednesday after sending a letter to Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta asking him to allow women to serve in combat roles in the U.S. military.  Brown, a Lieutenant-Colonial and 32-year veteran of the Massachusetts National Guard, said he believes that allowing women to serve will enhance the capabilities of the armed services.  "We have an obligation to expand the professional opportunities available to women, especially considering their sacrifices," said Brown. "Doing so in my view would improve military effectiveness, not detract from it." More Dunkin' Donuts in Your Future

Dunkin' Donuts announced expansion plans Wednesday.

Here's some good news for coffee and Munchin lovers in the area. If by any chance you can’t find a Dunkin Donuts in your area, it’s about to get even easier in the future Over the next 20 years, Dunkin Donuts announced today it will be doubling its locations in the United States, according to a CNN report. Besides more coffee, Dunkin' Donuts will be adding more jobs. The CNN reports says that each new store adds an average of 20-25 full and part-time new employees. According to Los Angeles-based industry research firm IBISWorld, Dunkin' Donuts had about 23% of the coffee and snack-shop market. Starbucks is a 32.6-percent of the market share.
