“I don’t think American taxpayers should be footing the bill for people’s pie purchases,” Andrea Taber, proprietor of the Ever So Humble Pie Co. in Walpole, told the Boston Herald. Taber sells her pies at the Braintree Farmers Market, yet refuses to accept tokens that the Farmers Market organizers sell to Electronic Benfits Transfer or EBT cardholders for use at the market. Farmers Market chairwoman Donna Ingemanson said that people on food stamps needed healthy choices and asked the Herald, "What better chance to buy healthy foods than at a farmers market?" Taber said buying fruits and vegetables with an EBT card is fine, but drew the line at using the card to purchase sweets, according to the Herald. Should food vendors be able to decide…

With U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder being held in contempt by a Republican heavy House of Representatives, pundits are saying the chances of a new Attorney General are likely should Obama serve in a second term, according to the Boston Herald. The goal is to have state champions in all six divisions instead of just the East, and Central-West champions. The six finals would be a Gillette Stadium. Foxborough would be in Division 4 South with fellow Hockomock League members, Canton and Sharon, and the Tri-Valley Leagie's Norton, Westwood, Holliston and Medway. Gillette Stadium could be getting ads for casinos on signs at their stadiums if the NFL gives its approval.
If even the casino doesn't get built in Foxborough, you could see ads for them at Gillette Stadium in the near future. According to an articles in the Sports Business Journal and the Boston Herald, the National Football League is considering allowing teams to have ads for the casinos in their stadiums. “The (New England) Patriots could take in $4 million, $5 million — even $6 million-plus per year (under the proposed rules),” expert Marc Ganis was quoted as saying in the Boston Herald. Casinos with sports betting wouldn't be allowed to have their ads in the stadium. TV ads would still be banned. The NFL says it is still considering the plan. “This is something that was raised at (last week’s) league meetings as a potential new revenue …
