Foxborough Founders Day to Celebrate Town's Schools

The following is the schedule for Saturday's Foxborough Founders Day.

  The theme of the 2012 Foxborough Founders Day will be "Foxborough Schools Past and Present." The event will be all day Saturday, June 9, throughout the day. Here's a schedule of events: 7 –9:30 a.m. Pancake Breakfast at American Legion Hall on Mechanic St. Tickets are available at the door. 7 –9 a.m. Booth Field Exhibit Set-up 8 – 9:30 a.m. Parade assembles at 132 Central St. 10 a.m. Parade starts at 132 Central St., toward Common, to Mechanic St., Railroad Ave., Bird St. around the Common to South St., ending at the Booth Playground. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Activities at Booth Playground. Preparing Your Child for Kindergarten in Foxborough

Tips on how to use your community to prepare your child for Kindergarten.

At the Igo Elementary School "Meet and Greet" held on May 18, many parent's were questioning the teachers on how to prepare their child for Kindergarten. Although the teacher's did their best to make suggestions, the answer was not clear cut. However, Foxborough and surrounding communities offer an array of educational and fun resources to enhance your child's readiness for Kindergarten. Below is a list of three great resources. 1. Visit the Boyden Library. The Boyden library offers story-time on Wednesdays at 1:30pm for three to five year olds, which is the perfect opportunity to meet other children who may be entering Kindergarten in the fall.
