Foxboro Legion Loses Another Close One Run Game

Foxborough loses another close one to Medfield 5-4.

After last night’s close loss against Walpole, Foxboro Post 93 was looking to avoid another close defeat. Despite having leads of 2-0 and 4-3, Medfield Post 45 was too much for Foxboro as they lost another close one 5-4. The Foxboro bats came alive early in the game. With 2 on and 2 outs, Tom Brady’s single brought in Aiden Farrell and advanced Nick Carafa to third to put Foxboro on the board 1-0. A Tom Savageau double got Carafa home but Brady got called out at home plate to end the top of the first inning. Not to be outdone, Medfield’s Nick Santangelo was able to score after a single by James Magrath to cut the Foxboro lead in half. Memorial Day Memories Bring Home Heroic Efforts

A son recalls how the holiday has changed for him over the years.

For most kids in the 1960s, Memorial Day was just another morning to sleep in or stay in pajamas and watch TV. After all, there was no school bus to catch. Back in those days, there were no big shopping sales or TV marathons to catch up with. After waking up, it was time to play ball, hang out with friends and look for a cookout. For most kids my age, that was the normal holiday routine. Not for me. I had business…Army business. Living down the road from a cemetery had a lot of advantages. It was cool place to play hide-and- seek or to scare the other kids in the neighborhood with tales of ghosts and zombies.
