No injuries reported following an investigation by Foxborough police in the area of East Street near the Sharon town line.
UPDATE (Thursday, June 6; 8 a.m.) - There were no injuries in Wednesday's Amtrak train accident involving an anbandoned AT on the tracks in Foxborough, according to Foxborough fire officials via The Sun Chronicle. Foxborough police and fire were unable to find a victim after an extensive 20-minute search in the area of East Street near the Sharon town line. Sanford, 43, of Norton, was arrested and charged with OUI liquor and possession of open container of alcohol in motor vehicle after a nearby pedestrian informed police the Norton resident was allegedly drinking alcohol in the parking lot of Dairy Queen. Sanford was arrested after he reportedly registered a .283 on a preliminary breath test. 10:40 p.m. – Nichole E. Saltis, the town’s wiring inspector, was found to be a dangerous person and held without bail Tuesday following the alleged assault on his ex-wife, Julie, on Memorial Day.
A Wrentham District Court judge ruled Foxborough resident Glenn Saltis to be a dangerous person Tuesday after the town’s wiring inspector allegedly attacked and severely injured his wife, Julie on Memorial Day. “Defendant [Glenn Saltis] was found to be a dangerous person and held without bail at 4:45 p.m. [Tuesday] by Judge Stephen Ostrach at Wrentham District Court,” said David Traub, spokesman for the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office. Police say scams are asking elderly residents for money.
The Foxborough Police Department is warning town residents of multiple phone scams that have recently hit the area. “The department has received a few reports from citizens recently regarding phone scams,” Foxborough police said via its Facebook page. “Most of these scams appear to target the elderly.” Police said other area departments have also received reports from residents in the area of the suspicious phone calls. The scams appear to be consistent in approach throughout the area. “One way these scams work is the person receives a telephone call from someone claiming to have kidnapped one of their relatives,” said Foxborough police. “The scammer will tell the person not to contact the police and to wire a large amount of money to a …

Thursday, May 23: 8:44 p.m. – Jordan T. Bombardier, 20, of Foxborough, was arrested and charged with assault and battery, default warrant, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (lit cigarette) and intimidating a witness following a domestic disturbance at Belcher Lane residence. Police reported an abandoned 911 call came from a residence on Belcher Lane and no answer on call back. Police responded to the area to check on the residence and reported a “possible domestic disturbance.” Police spoke to the victim of the alleged assault and advised her of her 209A rights, which she declined.

Heightened security measures at Gillette Stadium include upgrading the stadium’s pat down procedure, adjusting security checkpoint locations and scanning at bag check stations.
The NFL’s safest stadium is expected to heighten its security of future events in the aftermath of the attacks on the Boston Marathon in April. Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary and Gillette Stadium Security Director Mark Briggs are working on a plan to enhance security measures, including security check protocol, at Gillette Stadium. Among the enhancements will be upgrading the stadium’s pat down procedure and adjusting security checkpoint locations, according to Stadium Advisory Committee chair George Bell. Also being discussed is to include scanning at bag check stations. Saturday, May 25: 8:24 a.m. – Caller from a Maple Avenue rental unit reported his landlord kicked in his door and attempted to assault him with a stick. Police responded and confirmed there was a forced entry to the caller’s unit by the landlord, who lives in another unit at the Maple Avenue residence. John H. Slade, 48, of 9 Maple St., Apt. #2, Foxborough, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering daytime for felony, armed, person in fear and malicious destruction of property over $250.
