Helen Marie Hugo Dies at 74; Former Longtime Foxborough Resident

Hugo passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2013.

Helen Marie (Spellman) Hugo, 74, died unexpectedly at her home in Plainville on Thursday, May 2, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Miller) Spellman. Helen was born in Dedham on July 5, 1938. She lived in Plainville for the past 31 years and was a former longtime resident of Foxborough. Helen was a retired machine operator for Texas Instruments in Attleboro. Prior to working at Texas Instruments she was employed by Fuller Box Company and Mason Box Company in North Attleboro. Helen loved music, especially Elvis and had a great sense of humor. She also loved classic television and at one time was an avid bowler, roller-skater and ice-skater. Beloved wife of George J. Hugo. Calling Hours for Retired Foxborough Police Officer Paul Doherty is Monday; Funeral is Tuesday

Doherty lived in Foxborough for 45 years and served the community as a Foxborough police officer for over 37 years, retiring in 2003.

Paul Anthony Doherty, Sr., 72, died unexpectedly at his home in Foxborough on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. He was the son of the late Bernard and Winifred (Carlin) Doherty. Paul was born in Jamaica Plain on Oct. 10, 1940 and was a graduate of Holy Cross Cathedral High School in Boston. He was also a graduate of Dean Junior College in Franklin. He and his wife Lorraine were married at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Jamaica Plain on April 4, 1964. He has been a resident of Foxborough for the past 45 years. Paul was a retired patrolman and court prosecutor for the Town of Foxborough, retiring in 2003. He was also a former news photographer for the former Boston Herald-Traveler from 1962-1972. Paul served the citizens of Foxborough for over 37 years. He was also a former news photographer for the former Boston Herald-Traveler from 1962-1972. Michael J. Danesco, Jr. Dies at 69; Army Veteran and 38-Year Resident of Foxborough

Danesco passed away on Wednesday, May 1st at Norwood Hospital.

Michael John Danesco, Jr., 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 1st at Norwood Hospital, surrounded by loving family. He was the son of the late Michael John Danesco, Sr. and Madeline (Marks) Danesco. Michael was born in Jamaica Plain on Dec. 17th, 1943. He was a graduate of Boston Latin School and Boston College. Following college, he served in the United States Army for two years and then as a reservist. He worked for The Social Security Administration for twenty three years, retiring as an Operations Manager in 1995. Michael was the husband of Lenore L. (Beane) Danesco who he married in 1972. Retired Foxborough Police Officer Paul Doherty Dies

Doherty, who served the department for over 37 years, passed away on May 8th.

The Foxborough Police Department announced Wednesday that retired officer Paul A. Doherty has passed away. “It is with deep sorrow that the Foxborough Police Department announces the death of retired Patrolman Paul A. Doherty on May 8, 2013,” police said in a statement issued on its Facebook page. “Paul served the citizens of Foxborough for over 37 years. Paul took great pride in being a police officer and in helping people. He will be remembered by many as the officer who oversaw the restoration, and often drove, ‘Cappy’ the police department’s crime prevention vehicle.” Doherty’s last assignment before retiring in 2009 was that of court prosecutor. “Paul will be deeply missed by his family and by the Foxborough Police Department,” police…

Foxborough's John Deal Dies at 75; Served in the Army with Elvis

Mr. John Deal was a resident of Foxborough since 1968 and was a former bus driver for the Foxborough School system and an assistant wrestling coach for Foxborough High School.

John Deal, 75, died suddenly on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at his home in Foxborough. He was the son of the late Jennie (Ejdrygiewicz) Deal and brother of Frank Deal and Helen Johnson who preceded him in death. John was born in Cambridge on Oct. 27, 1937 and was raised in the Brighton-Allston section of Boston. He served in both the United States Marine Corps and United States Army and was in the same Army unit in Germany with Elvis Presley. He has been a Foxborough resident since 1968. John was a retired tractor-trailer operator for Teamsters Local 25 and Pipefitters and Journeymen Local 537, driving for the Stop and Shop construction division. He was employed as a chef at the Pawtucket Country Club for the last five years. Paulo volunteered his cooking skills at the Moose Lodge in Attleboro where he assisted in providing meals for the homeless and young struggling families. Warner Smith “Skip” Chandler, Jr., 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Rhode Island Medical Center surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late Warner and Dorothy (Bell) Chandler. Skip was born in Portland, Maine on July 17, 1932. He was a graduate of New Gloucester High School and Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard Reserves. He and his wife Helen were married at St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough on June 24, 1961. Shirley Rose (Coffin) Septelka, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the daughter of the late Elroy and Phillis (Greenwood) Coffin. Shirley was born in New Bedford on Jan. 2, 1938 and lived in Rochester until age six. She was raised in Norwood and attended Norwood Public Schools. She has been a resident of Foxborough for the past 48 years. She was a former secretary for Ann and Hope in Rhode Island. She enjoyed visits to Cape Cod with her family.
