The Steamer Shed was built as a project of the Foxborough Historical Commission in 1979 to house the original two pieces of fire apparatus purchased by the Fire Company that later became the Foxborough Fire Department.

Visitors can view through the large windows on the front of the building the 1851 Pumper and 1872 Steamer. The Steamer Shed is open on special occasions and by prior arrangement with groups interested in touring Memorial Hall – the town archives and museum.
