Injured Veterans to Visit Gillette Stadium as Part of Monday's Ride 2 Recovery Minuteman Challenge

More than 200 cyclists, including injured veterans and their supporters, will set off Monday, Sept. 10 on the inaugural Ride 2 Recovery Minuteman Challenge presented by UnitedHealthcare. 

On this six-day, 325-mile ride from Quincy, Mass. to New York City, they will ride road bikes, hand cycles, recumbents and tandems – many of which have been modified to accommodate injuries.

Cyclists will ride into Patriot Place for a USO lunch and a tour of The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon. In addition to the lunch and tour provided courtesy of Raytheon, the injured veterans will have a meet and greet with former Patriots linebacker Eric Alexander.

Supporters of the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund will present each cyclist with a 12-inch ribbon bearing the name of a Massachusetts 9/11 family member who died on 9/11.

Minuteman Challenge cyclists will start their week-long journey at the Marriott Hotel in Quincy and ride south through historic New England with overnight stops in Providence, R.I., Hartford and New London, Conn., Oyster Bay, N.Y. and Fort Lee, N.J. The ride will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 16 with an Honor Ride through New York City.

Cyclists are expected to arrive at Patriot Place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday.

Cyclists will arrive as a large group travelling south on North Street, north on Putnam Parkway, and west on Patriot Place, turning left to enter the parking lot just after the Guard Shack and head to Lot 4.

Participants will dismount in the parking area outside of the Pro Shop before having lunch and touring The Hall.

They will depart heading south on Putnam and southeast on North Street.
