'Cops For Kids With Cancer' Benefit Held at Waxy O'Connor's

Maria Stephanos was on hand to help raise money for the organization by auctioning off various goodies.

Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub Restaurant hosted the "Cops For Kids With Cancer" benefit this past Saturday night, March 26.

Maria Stephanos, Fox25 news anchor, was on hand to help raise money for the organization by auctioning off various famous items at the event.

"Cops For Kids With Cancer" is a federally recognized 501 ( C ) (3) not-for-profit organization. All money that is raised goes directly to children with cancer.

The organization currently donates to the  Pediatric Oncology Units of the Massachusetts General Hospital and the floating Hospital for Children at the New England Medical Center. Their goal is to help lessen the financial burden that cancer treatments puts on many families.

"Cops For Kids With Cancer" is a small organization comprised of volunteer law enforcement officers and friends of law enforcement.

Stephanos, who said that it "was a great event for a great cause," auctioned off items that included a Bobby Orr jersey and a script of ‘Dumb and Dumber’ autographed by the Farrelly Brothers.
