What Does it Mean to be a Foxborough Warrior?

Foxborough High School Athletic Director Caitlin Brown defines a student-athlete as someone who is dedicated, hardworking and passionate.

A student athlete who chooses to don Foxborough's Blue and Gold is often dedicated, hardworking and passionate about their sport, according to FHS Athletic Director Caitlin Brown.

Brown says to be a Foxborough Warrior, student athletes are leaders both on their team and in the community. They exhibit sportsmanship and represent the town "very well."

"They strive to be the best they can," Brown said.

Developing these young leaders is a goal of Brown's moving forward as she settles into her first year as athletic director.

"[Goal is] looking at athletics as part of the academic curriculum instead of a separate entity of it, Brown said. "I think as a former athlete myself, I think it taught me a lot about resiliency and dealing with setbacks, how to handle situations and I would like to work that into the training of captains and develop a more formalized curriculum."

Brown says she enjoys working with the kids and wouldn't be in Foxborough if it wasn't for the town's student athletes.

"I enjoy their enthusiasm and passion," Brown said. "It’s fun to watch them compete on all different levels. ... I am so grateful to have this opportunity to be a part of such a great community and such a great athletic tradition."

And while winning is important to both Brown and the school's student athletes it's not everything.

“[The main goal is] producing leaders and good citizens who will come away with a passion for athletics but also understanding how athletics contributed to their overall well-being," said Brown.
