Looks like a done deal.

The New England Patriots and Welker were unable to get a deal done prior to the start of NFL free agency Tuesday and a day later it appears the fan-favorite wide receiver is leaving Foxborough to join Peyton Manning and the AFC rival Denver Broncos.

According to multiple media reports, Welker has agreed to a multi-year deal with Denver, ending a six-year run as the NFL's most productive wide receiver with quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Reports surfaced Wednesday morning the Patriots' offer to Welker came in “significantly lower” than the wide receiver and his agent expected, opening the door to strike a deal elsewhere.

That opportunity came Wednesday afternoon when multiple reports broke Welker was engaged in "serious" contract talks with the Denver Broncos. After receiving an offer from Denver, Welker reportedly went back to New England to see if the Patriots would match the Bronco's offer.

They apparently didn't.

And now Welker takes his 768 career receptions, 8,580 career yards and 38 career touchdowns to Manning in Mile High.

While the NFL has not released next season's schedule yet we do know the Patriots and Broncos will play one another in Foxborough at some point in 2013. Will the boo birds accompany Welker in his return to New England with Manning and the rival Broncos?

Stay tuned.
