Sergio Garcia Practices with New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium

PGA TOUR Pro Sergio Garcia Practices with New England Revolution in Advance of Deutsche Bank Championship.

PGA TOUR veteran and Deutsche Bank Championship competitor Sergio Garcia of Spain took the field with the New England Revolution soccer team on Wednesday for a spirited 90-minute workout. Garcia, an avid soccer player and fan, is in town for the 2011 Deutsche Bank Championship, the second of four PGA TOUR Playoff events for the FedExCup.

Garcia participated fully with the Revolution, warming up, executing soccer drills and playing in a 30-minute scrimmage. Afterwards, Revolution head coach Steve Nicol and captain Shalrie Joseph presented Garcia with an official Revs game jersey with his name on it. After practice, Garcia headed to TPC Boston to play nine holes at the Deutsche Bank Championship course.

Garcia, along with the top 100 players on the PGA TOUR, will tee it up at this year’s Deutsche Bank Championship. Deutsche Bank Championship Week is in full swing as PGA TOUR professional practiced Wednesday at TPC Boston in advance of Thursday’s Deutsche Bank Championship Pro-Am.

Competition rounds begin Friday and continue through Labor Day Monday. Tickets are available at www.dbchampionship.com. Kids 15 and under receive complimentary grounds admission with a paid adult.
