PHOTOS: Foxborough Girls' Basketball Beats Lunenburg by 48 Points Monday

Foxborough will host Hopkinton in the Warrior Classic championship game Tuesday after steamrolling Lunenburg, 85-37 Monday night.

The Foxborough High School girls’ basketball team is back in the Warrior Classic Championship game after cruising to an 85-37 win over Lunenburg Monday night.

After leading 19-13 after the first quarter, the Warriors (14-5) rose to another level in the second, outscoring the Knights, 29-5 in the quarter to build a 48-18 halftime lead.

Foxborough continued to apply the pressure in the second half – mainly with its second unit – scoring 20 points in the third quarter and 17 in the fourth enroute to the 48-point victory.

The win puts Foxborough in the championship game of the Warrior Classic for the second consecutive season. The Warriors fell to visiting Hopkinton, 70-44 in the last year’s final and will get another shot at the Hillers Tuesday after HHS held on to defeat Ursuline Academy of Dedham, 50-48 Monday.

Tuesday’s championship game is set to tip-off at 6:30 p.m.
