Patriots Trade Out of First Round of NFL Draft Thursday

New England Patriots load up on draft picks by trading away its 29th overall selection to the Minnesota Vikings Thursday for four picks.

Those waiting to see which college prospect is headed to Foxborough will have to wait another day.

The New England Patriots chose to trade out of the first round of Thursday’s NFL Draft at Radio Music City Hall in New York for the chance to acquire four more selections over the next two days.

The Pats traded its 29th overall selection to the Minnesota Vikings, which used to draft Tennessee wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, for the 52nd pick (2nd round), 83rd pick (3rd round), 102nd pick (4th round) and 229th pick (7th round).

Rounds two and three will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. and rounds four to seven will be held Sunday at noon.
