Construction of Foxboro Sports Center Rink Expansion Begins

Foxboro Sports Center's new addition has begun preparatory construction.

Foxborough town planner Susan Wason said the construction for the rink expansion project at the Foxboro Sports Center has begun in earnest in May.

“The developer had it approved and he’s broken ground,” she said.

Wason said the preparations and demolition of a building in the lot will commence in a few days.

“The metal frame building sits in what will be the parking lot,” she said. “These two rows of parking are in, but the building is still sitting down. They just got the gas turned off, so they’re going to start to tear the building down and rough up the rest of the parking lot.”

She added that for construction of the actual addition to the center to begin, the developer, Rich Touzos, has wait until May 23 to allow anyone to appeal the construction. Then the new rink’s actual construction will begin.
