UnitedHealthcare and the Revolution plan on using their partnership to "raise awareness about the long-term benefits of living a healthy lifestyle." The partnership's first effort will be in the fight to prevent childhood diabetes and obesity.

"We want to focus on improving the wellness of the people in this country so we can reduce the cost of healthcare for everybody and improve the social and personal lives people have," New England Revolution Investor/Operator Jonathan A. Kraft said. "So for us, a partnership that was going to be focused on youth fitness and reducing childhood obesity was a no-brainer."

The partnership will also provide healthy living education through soccer clinics, in-stadium activities, and youth instructional programs aimed at getting more children active and making healthy lifestyle choices.

"When you think about a great partnership, you think of  having a common goal and common mission, [so] what this is all about is raising the awareness of the benefits of fitness and healthy lifestyle," said Michael Matteo, chief executive officer, UnitedHealthcare National Accounts. "If we [UnitedHealthcare] can be a small part of that, that is fantastic."

The Revolution will debut their game jerseys displaying the UnitedHealthcare logo  today, Saturday April 23, against Sporting Kansas City at Gillette Stadium.
