UPDATED: Tebow Practices With New England Patriots

Tim Tebow was in Foxborough Tuesday to join the New England Patriots for its mandatory mini-camp after signing as a free agent Monday.

The New England Patriots had the former New York Jets and Denver Broncos quarterback in mini-camp Tuesday after he signed a contract, according to the ESPN and the NFL Network.

(UPDATED:Tuesday, June 11, 10:30 a.m.: ESPN is reporting Tebow is signing a two-year deal wth no guaranteed money.)

Tebow was selected in the first round by current Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels in 2010 after a Heisman Trophy winning career at the University of Florida.

"Tim is talented player, works hard," said Patriots head coach Bill Belichick in Tuesday's press conference. "(We're) what's best for the team.

"I like Tim and I have lot of respect for Tim."

Tebow took part in mini-camp today with Patriots and had these comments, according to ESPN-Boston and on nfl.com.

""First and foremost, I just want to thank the Patriots for giving me an opportunity. I'm very thankful," Tebow said. "It's such an honor to be a Patriot and play for coach (Bill) Belichick and (offensive coordinator Josh) McDaniels, and learn under (quarterback) Tom (Brady), and be a part of this great franchise and very successful franchise. I found out firsthand. Lost to them several times. It's going to be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to working hard every single day and getting a lot better, and learning under some great people. That's all I got. Thank you all so much and God bless. I'm sure we'll be talking more soon."

The 6-foot, 3-inch, 250-pound lefthanded quarterback is 9-7 in his three-year NFL career, throwing for 2,422 yards, 17 touchdowns with nine interceptions. He also  has rushed for 989 yards. He led the Denver Broncos to the playoffs in the 2011 season, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime before losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Round.
