Foxborough's Kiivone Howard Headed to Dean College; Mac Lowrie Commits to BC

Roxbury Latin quarterback Mac Lowrie, a Foxborough native, and Foxborough High School standout Kiivone Howard will be playing college football.

Foxborough High School standout Kiivone Howard will be playing collegiate football close to home next season, committing to Dean College in Franklin Wednesday, HockomockSports.com.

Howard had a Division III best 25 touchdowns and ran for 1,750 yards this past season. For his career, Howard scored 38 touchdowns and ran for more than 2,500 yards for the Warriors. He was also a standout defensive back and earned a spot in the All-State team.

In other recruiting news, Foxborough native Mac Lowrie will be attending Boston College in the fall and playing for the Eagles' football team. The Roxbury Latin quarterback announced his commitment Wednesday.

At 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, Lowrie was one of two quarterbacks in the 17-player signing class for BC Wednesday. James Walsh of Dublin, Ohio will also be in the incoming freshmen class.

Lowrie had an outstanding career at Roxbury Latin, named three times to the First Team NEPSAC All-New England Team and was named as the NEPSAC Division C Player of the Year. He finished with the ISL record for most touchdowns in a season with 35, threw for 5,600 yards, rushed for 1,600 yards and scored 75 touchdowns. Lowrie, also a basketball standout, was heavily recruited by UConn, Maryland, North Carolina State and Virginia.
