3 Foxboro Legion Baseball Players Continue Recovery from Head-On Crash

The three Foxborough American Legion baseball players injured in the June 18th head-on crash at the intersection of Main and Pierce Streets on Route 140 are recovering and hope to return to action soon.

On June 18th, . A little over two weeks later, all three seem to be recovering nicely and hope to begin playing baseball again soon.

“I think best scenario is that everyone is doing good, which is good,” Foxborough head coach Bill Travers said.

Already back from injury is pitcher Eric DeSimone, who recently threw against Walpole. While DeSimone did not get past the first inning – he gave up seven runs against Walpole – he had returned to the mound and had a chance to play following the traumatic crash.

“I said ‘you know what, you’re out here so it could of been a lot worse.’” Travers told DeSimone during the game.

Cam Nagle, another player injured in the crash, has been doing some work catching fly balls but has yet to return to the field. With his jaw wired shut, a return to competition this summer is doubtful.

And Adam Chochrek, the third player injured on June 18, will find out if he will get medical clearance to play next week when he sees his doctor.

With the 2012 legion season ending in late July, Travers said he was optimistic that Chochrek would join DeSimone and return to the field this summer.
