Foxborough's Nate Bayuk Wrapping up Career at Boston College

The Boston College baseball team upset Virginia Tech Sunday at home.

The Boston College baseball team used a four-run rally in the eighth inning to come back and defeat 25th-ranked Virginia Tech, 5-3, on Sunday afternoon at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at Commander Shea Field.

Before the start of the game, seven seniors were recognized for their careers in the Maroon and Gold.

Red-shirt senior Nate Bayuk of Foxborough faced one batter in the ninth inning before Norwood's John Gorman came on in relief to get his second save of the season.

This season, Bayuk, a lefthander, has made 23 appearances, allowing one home run with a 5.40 ERA and 11 strikeouts. 

Foxborough's John Nicklas, a freshman, has made 18 appearances out of the bullpen with a 1-0 record and 3.88 ERA. He also has struck out 13 batters and issued 10 walks. Opponents are hitting just .222 against him.

The Eagles (11-37, 3-23 ACC) outhit the Hokies (30-19, 13-14 ACC), 10-9, in the series finale as they tallied their third ACC win of the year. 

BC returns to action on Tuesday, May 14 with their final home game against Maine before wrapping up the season with a three-game series at Maryland beginning on May 16.
