Foxborough's Grueter Honored For Worcester State Track

Former Foxborough High standout Brittany Grueter earned a track honor for Worcester State.

Worcester State junior Brittany Grueter (Foxboro) has been selected MASCAC Women Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for her standout distance performance this past weekend.

Grueter took home top honors with a time of 41:56.64 in the 10,000 meters at the Worcester City Meet to qualify for the Division III New England Championships in March.

Grueter has had a solid third-year campaign as she earned All-MASCAC honors with ninth place at the conference cross country championships to help the squad place second and tie for their best finish at the meet. She also scored points for All-MASCAC accolades in the mile and 3,000 meters this past indoor season to help the Lancers claim their third consecutive league title.

Grueter's award marks the first time this indoor or outdoor track season that a WSU distance student-athlete has been recognized with conference weekly honors.

The Blue and Gold will compete next week at the Jim Sheehan Invitational hosted by Fitchburg State.
