Foxborough High Could Have a New Football League

After the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association's football committee approved a new high school football format, the tournament directors were expected to hear the plan today.

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association's tournament committee was expected to look at a new high school football playoff format, according a report in the Boston Herald

Wednesday, the MIAA football committee voted 15-2 for the plan, which would dramatically change the sport by adding a new playoff format with more teams qualifying, a different divisional set-up. The goal is to have state champions in all six divisions instead of just the  East, and Central-West champions. The six finals would be a Gillette Stadium. Foxborough would be in Division 4 South with fellow Hockomock League members, Canton and Sharon, and the Tri-Valley Leagie's Norton, Westwood, Holliston and Medway. The Bay State League's Dedham would also be in the mix.
