Foxborough Golf Defeats Attleboro on Rainy Day
The Warriors defeated Attleboro by a single stroke, 172-173.
The losing streak might be over for Foxboro, but it wasn’t easy. On a wet course on a cloudy afternoon, the Warriors found a way to get pass the Attleboro Blue Bombardiers by a single stroke 172-173 to snap the Warriors’ 3-match skid.
Playing in the rain for the beginning of the match, both teams were faced with a wet course and the expectation of slow greens and fairways. With every stroke counting, it was going to take a team effort to earn a win, especially with less than ideal conditions. Those conditions may have led to some higher scores.
“Ryan(Murray) played pretty well but with the start with the rain I expected this,” said Attleboro coach Kevan Higgins.

“It helps with Alex’s confidence and I think it motivates the upperclassmen to better him,” said Foxboro coach Shawn Seybert of DeCenso’s performance.
Behind DeCenso were Matt Laracy and Mike Capadono both with a score of 43. Rounding out Foxboro’s scoring foursome was Sean Philbin with a score of 44.
Falling by a single stroke, it was a tough loss for an Attleboro team that knew exactly what they needed to score to beat Foxboro.
“I told them on the bus 2 rounds in the 30s and 2 rounds below 43 we win and that’s the case,” said Higgins.
With the win, Foxboro is now 3-3 while Attleboro is now 1-3.
