Foxborough Girls' Tennis Wins at Sharon 4-1 ‎

Swept the three singles matches to beat Sharon on Thursday, April 14.

Visiting Foxborough swept the three singles matches to beat Sharon, 4-1, in Thursday.

It was Sharon (2-1)'s first loss of the season.  

"They (Foxborough) have some great teams there, and some great players. It was a good match, though," Sharon head coach Dianne Micheroni said.

"We look forward to playing them again next time, and who knows what will happen?"

Thursday, in first singles, Foxborough junior Alana Prinos defeated Sharon junior co-captain Melissa Yuan, 6-0, 6-1. In second singles, Foxborough freshman Emma Prinos defeated Sharon junior Emily Hu, 6-0, 6-0. In third singles, Foxborough sophomore Hallie Young defeated Sharon sophomore Faina Volt, 6-4, 6-4.

"Our one and two singles players got off to a good start and kept a good lead, and we were cheering on our number three singles player, and she was really clutch for us. Kind of takes the pressure off doubles," Warriors head coach Peter Prinos said.

In first doubles, Sharon juniors Rachel Bashein and Alannah Waisel defeated the Foxborough duo of senior Chelsie Miller and sophomore Mary Harris.

In second doubles, the Foxborough duo of sophomores Meghan Carter and Caroline Muise defeated Sharon juniors Jessica Ferris and Daniella Edmonds, winning a tiebreaker after splitting sets.

Foxborough travels to Mansfield at 3:30 p.m. today.
