Foxborough Girls' Lacrosse: Coach Confident About Season

Varsity competes in scrimmage, March 29, against Norwood.

Foxborough's girls' varsity lacrosse will open their season play with a scrimmage match against Norwoord tomorrow, March 29 at 3:30 p.m.

The 2011 squad will be led by a solid group of upperclassmen who have the skill and potential to take the team very far and fill the void that last years seniors left.

Varsity girls' lacrosse coach, Jessica Cercone, is expecting a "smooth transition" into the season.

"A main concern for us was losing our three leading scorers and an outstanding goalie," said Cercone. "Even with that loss there is a lot of underlying excitement."

Foxborough girl's lacrosse has a lot to prove this year and Cercone expects to see various players emerge and show off just how talented they are.

"As the sport of lacrosse grows, so does the skill and experience that the underclassmen come in with," said Cercone. "Each year I expect more and more from the girls' lacrosse program and I look forward to an amazing season."

Catch the Warrior girls' lacrosse in action tomorrow, March 29, at Norwood High School.
