Foxborough Football Looks Good in Scrimmage Against Milford

The Warriors looked good in their second scrimmage Tuesday evening against the Milford Hawks.

The Warriors took to Ahern field for their second scrimmage Tuesday evening against the Milford Hawks. Seeing that it was a scrimmage that saw both teams run through their plays rather than simulate a game, it was tough to see how the Warriors would do in a game day scenario. Despite this, there were some noteworthy plays during the 2-hour scrimmage.

  • The defense looked real good against the Hawks. With little resistance from the offensive line, the Warriors had no problem getting sacks and tackles for a loss.
  • The offensive line is small but good. They were a big part of the runs that took place during the scrimmage. They were quick to open holes and help get plenty of 10+ yard runs for the Warriors.
  • Mike McGuire took advantage of those holes and busted out multiple runs for big gains including a 47-yard run to the Milford 1 yard line.
  • Anthony Fertitta had a nice interception returned for a touchdown. The senior was able to get a hold of a tipped ball and take advantage of a ball thrown into coverage.
  • Nice Sestito looked good at quarterback. He had a couple of good throws to Greg Stamatov who also showed off his speed during his reps.

The Warriors will have one more scrimmage at Swampscott High School at 10am on Saturday September 3. The regular season will begin a week later on Friday September 9th at rival North Attleboro High School.
