The Foxboro Warriors got the best result they could of hoped for during their Senior Day meet against Milford. With Billy Clark and Kayla Sepe earning first place finishes for the Warriors, both the boys’ team and girls’ team got past the Scarlet Hawks in their final dual meet of the year.
Boys and the girls finish the dual meet season with matching records of 2-3.
Clark’s and Dean Mazzola’s 1-2 finish put the Warriors in a strong position to win with Milford’s Jon Cicciu (18:50) taking third place. The victorious junior cleared the 5K course at the the Gilbert Hills State Forest in 17:57 while Mazzola finished at 18:18.
Foxboro’s Tim O’Toole (19:07), Jason Reed (19:32), and Matt Smith (19:35) took fifth, eighth, and ninth to lock up a 25-30 win for the boys.
Sepe’s (22:02) first place finished turned out to be the performance needed in the narrow 29-26 win against Milford. Katy Tood ran 22:38, good enough for fourth place and Kylie Walter took fifth place with a time of 22:50.
Sophia Mellen (24:23) and Diana Prinos (25:04) rounded out the Warriors’ top five with seventh and ninth place finishes.
The Warriors return to league action at the Hockocmock League Championship Meet at Borderland State Park on Oct. 26
