Spring Health Program at Patriot Place - Sports Concussion

Experts from Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center are offering a FREE series of spring Health care Classes & Programs.  Today's topic:

Sports Concussion: Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment  - In this class, geared to parents of athletes and their coaches, emergency physician Christopher Baugh, MD, neurologist Peter Q. Warinner, MD, sports medicine physiatrist Kelly McInnis, DO, and athletic trainer Gayle E. Olson, MS, ATC, will provide comprehensive information on sports concussion. The discussion will cover initial evaluation, when diagnostic imaging is needed, diagnosis of concussion and grades of concussion, head injury including treatment of sports-related concussion, the value of neuropsychological testing and return-to-play criteria, post-concussion syndrome, and long-term consequences of head injury.
