10 From FHS Named Hockomock Winter All-Stars

With the winter athletic season just about ending, the Hockomock League released their list of league all-stars that included 10 student-athletes from Foxborough High School

With the winter athletic season over, the Hockomock League released their list of league all-stars that included 10 student-athletes from Foxborough High School

Freshman Liz Holmes, junior Kiivone Howard, and senior Brendan Sullivan represented the track team who tied with the hockey team for the most all-stars from Foxboro with three.

Holmes won the the mile at the Hockomock and Division 3 championship meets in addition to a second place finish at the All-State meet.

At the New Balance Indoor National(NBIN) meet, Holmes took first place in the freshmen mile. Like Homles, Howard won the 300 at the Hockomock League meet and had a third place finish at the Division 3, All-State, and the New England Championship meets. He was 18th in the Emerging Elite division at the NBIN meet.

Sullivan wraps up his high school indoor career with a second place finish in the mile at the Hockomock League meet and an appearance at the National meet.

Leading the Warrior hockey team to their first postseason appearance since 2008 were senior captains Greg Stamatov and Aiden Campbell and sophomore Owen Campbell. Stamatov, who will attend Villanova to play lacrosse, led the team in points with 42 by virtue of 21 goals and a team high 21 assists.

Owen Campbell led the team with 24 goals in addition to 14 assists for 38 points. As a defenseman, Aiden Campbell contributed five goals and 12 assists for 17 points.

D.J. Quadrozzi was the lone all-star from the girls’ basketball team. In her senior year, she averaged 8.85 points per game for the Warriors. 

Jake Dorman was the wrestling team’s only all-star this year. Having multiple back and forth matches with Canton’s Chris Sullivan, Dorman was able to beat Sullivan for the Division 3 South Sectional title at 113 pounds, but was the runner up to the Canton wrestler at the league meet, and at the Division 3 meet.

Swimmers Meghan Foley and Maddie Fletcher round out the Hockomock all-stars from Foxborough. Foley was the league champion in the 50 freestyle while Fletcher was third in the 200 free. Foley also finished first in the 50 free at the South/Central Sectional meet and was fourth at the Division 2 meet.
