Southeastern Regional to Offer Gateway Summer Academy of Engineering

Program at Southeastern Regional to include insight to science, technology, engineering and math industries.

This summer, Southeastern Regional High School is offering seventh and eighth grade students from surrounding towns an opportunity to enroll in the Gateway Summer Academy of Engineering.

As part of the federally-sponsored, Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program, the Gateway Summer Academy of Engineering will provide attending students a combination of extracurricular and physical activities as well as engineering subjects like space and flight, design and modeling, and robotics, to name a few.

The Gateway Summer Academy of Engineering is specifically geared to expose middle school students to STEM subjects by way of varied and interactive projects.  It is hoped that with this exposure, students may recognize their own personal interests in these up-and-coming STEM fields.
