New Foxborough High School Principal Welcomed Back

Former assistant principal and history teacher at Foxborough High, Diana Myers-Pachla is going to be the new high school principal.

When Diana Myers-Pachla was introduced as the next as the next Foxborough High principal at Monday night's school committee meeting, it turned out to be a homecoming celebration instead of the usual meet and greet.

“I’m going to say what people told me when I came back five years ago,” sad Superintendent of Schools Debbie Spinelli, “welcome home.”

Myers-Pachla was the assistant principal at Foxborough High from 1996-2000, a program specialist from 1994-96 and a history teacher from 1984-1994.

The Marshfield resident is currently the principal at Middleboro High where she has been since 2010.

“Diana brings a very strong and diverse skill set to our high school," said Spinelli. “Diana has extensive experience in academic and curriculum leadership, professional development, student government, and strategic planning, among other areas.”

Near her residence, Rockland, Cohasset and Scituate are all looking for principals, but Myers-Pachla said she wasn’t looking for a new job until the Foxborough position came along.

“Nothing compares, I don’t think, to here,” she said. “That’s what really drew me back. This has always been a district that is committed to excellence. With Mrs. Spinelli at the helm, that was even more of a clincher, because I knew academically that we were going to be looking forward.

“It’s a fabulous community and my roots are here. I might live several miles away, but my roots are here far as my profession and my heart is here.”

Myers-Pachla is expected to start in July, taking over from Jeff Theodoss, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

“It’s a quite a privilege to be able to be back,” she said. “I know things aren’t the same and things have changed and that’s always good. I’m excited to be able to work with the team here at the high school and very excited to work with the team district-wide.”

Before going to Middleboro, she was the assistant principal at Duxbury High from 2000-10. Myers-Pachla is also very active in the Massachusetts and national associations of student councils.

“Her experience in other schools has been consistent with her tenure in Foxborough,” said Spinelli. “She “gets things done” and works collaboratively with faculty, parents, students and her administrative colleagues.

“She is described as forthright but very kind with her opinions, constructive criticisms, and ideas, and is a most approachable professional.”
