Healthy Futures 5K and Family Day a Success

The Invensys Foxboro Branch of the Hockomock Area YMCA hosted its 8th Annual Healthy Futures 5K and Family Day Sunday, Sept. 18.

The Invensys Foxboro Branch of the Hockomock Area YMCA hosted its 8th Annual Healthy Futures 5K and Family Day Sunday morning. The annual race is held in memory of Linda Cavossa, Michael Baker, and Jackie Thomas.

“Its great what the YMCA does for my mom, Mike, and Jackie. Its really good support for them,” said Anthony Cavossa, son of Linda.

As part of the branch’s Annual Healthy Futures 5K & Family Day, the course has received favorable reviews. It is a fairly flat course that takes runners from The YMCA on Mechanic Street, down Baker Street, up Chestnut Street, around the Ahern Middle School, and back to the YMCA. In addition to the fast course, runners got the benefit of a beautiful day with no rain and cool temperatures.
