Good Friday Scheduled As Make-Up Day at Igo
Students to attend school April 6 due to the water main break on Dec. 12.
The Foxborough School Committee has scheduled the make-up day for students at the Igo Elementary School. Students will have to attend school on April 6 - Good Friday - in order to make up the school day which was canceled due to a water main break Dec. 12.
"I would understand completely if parents wanted to keep students home because it is a religious observance," Superintendent Debra Spinelli told school committee members Monday night.
All of Igo's staff was consulted about scheduling the make-up day, and the consensus was that Good Friday would be the best day, Spinelli said.

"We didn't want to extend the school year in June, because the winter hadn't started yet," she said, "and I think parent's wouldn't want to bring their children to school on Saturday, or over the school breaks."
The make-up day will be a half-day and parents will receive notices in the mail this week.
