Foxborough Schools Won’t Make Up Snow Day on Good Friday

Foxborough Schools Superintendent Debra Spinelli said schools will not be in session on Good Friday, March 29.

While many school districts around the state are adding a day of school on Good Friday to make up for the excessive amount of snow days this winter, Foxborough Public Schools will remain closed for the religious holiday.

“We will not be in session on Good Friday,” said Foxborough Schools Superintendent Debra Spinelli. “Our last day of school is now Tuesday, June 25.”

Spinelli said unlike other school districts that will be in session on Good Friday, Foxborough has not exceeded its five allotted snow days.

“We have used exactly five snow days, which are built into our calendar, so we have not yet gone beyond the five allotted snow days that are planned as part of the calendar,” Spinelli said. “Were we to go beyond the five planned snow days (as have many school districts), the School Committee might consider other options such as Good Friday, but we are not there.”
