The charter school's after school academic enrichment and late buses end for the 2012-13 school year on Thursday, May 23rd. Here's some important information regarding regional transportation for next year.

Foxborough Regional Charter School is reminding parents that the school’s after school academic enrichment and late buses will end transportation for the 2012-13 school year on Thursday, May 23rd.

As for 2013-14, FRCS said “it is the intent of the school to continue offering regional transportation services,” which is a limited and fee based program.

All students who reside in the town of Foxborough are provided free transportation by the town, please contact the Town of Foxboro School Department for additional information,” FRCS said in a statement.

FRCS’ Board of Trustees approved the school to move forward with transportation planning this spring for the 2013-14 school year.

“As the board navigates through the budget process, they will determine how many buses will be affordable and what the fees will be for the 2013-14 school year,” according to FRCS. “Once the board has determined the fees and granted final approval for the number of buses, the school will begin to register families on a first come, first served basis. Seats will be limited.”

FRCS said seats on the regional buses in 2013-14 will be “open and available to all FRCS families, current families and new families” but students must be accepted and enrolled prior to registering for transportation.

“Application for our Regional Transportation program will be available online,” FRCS said. “The start date and time that applications may be submitted and how to submit an application will be announced in future Weekly Friday Folder e-mail publications that go out to enrolled families, as well as on the transportation page of the school website.  Please check the website frequently for updates, information and the online application form.”

FRCS added it is very important to apply for regional transportation promptly as seats on the buses fill very quickly.
