Caps Off to 'One of the Greatest Classes' to Ever Graduate Foxborough High School

209 students graduated from Foxborough High School Sunday on the FHS baseball field.

On Sunday, 209 Foxborough High School seniors became the 138th class to graduate from FHS and will leave a lasting legacy of greatness.

Foxborough Schools Superintendent Debra Spinelli echoed Sunday what many around the school district have been saying about the Class of 2013 for most of the year, "You turned out so great that just a few days ago at Class Day you had many people acknowledging that you are one of the greatest classes ever to come through Foxborough High School."

"And you are," Spinelli said. ... "Class of 2013 is remarkable."

Spinelli told Sunday's graduates their greatness already lies in each one of them and it can be found in "just the right blend of talent, humility, humor, quirkiness, dedication, integrity, loyalty and service. Sprinkled with just a touch of mischief."

Spinelli said she has seen greatness from the Class of 2013 in the "all-around talent of Johnny Mitchell; the scientific mind of an Aheli Chattopadhyay; the gentle goodness of Meghan Carter; the leadership and athleticism of Alex Pacitti; the sheer determination of Kenisha Georges and Caroline Miller; the creativity of Virag Vora; the loyalty and commitment of Jaclyn McCann; the musical genius of Alex Olsen; the endless smile of Kevin Aldrich and the selflessness and hilarity of Willie Long."

"The list goes on," Spinelli said. ... "I have found such joy in watching you and in serving you as the superintendent of schools. Because of young men and women like you I have great hope for the future and great confidence that the world is in your hands. So go find your greatness."

Class President Grace Alden borrowed the advice of Peter H. Reynolds, author of "The Dot," to tell her fellow seniors to take risks, make a mark and see where it takes them.

"Go out there, put a dot on the world and sign it," said Alden. "Sign it with confidence. Just make a mark and see where it takes you."

Class Valedictorian Aheli Chattopadhyay advised her classmates to embrace the change they are about to embark on and take time to celebrate their accomplishments.

So as the Foxborough High School Class of 2013 celebrates graduation it readies for new challenges and opportunities to seize the day and continue its legacy of greatness.

Sunday was only the beginning.

Class Song

"The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World

Lyrics (courtesy of E-Lyrics.com)

Hey, don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out or looked down on
Just try your best
Try everything you can
And don't you worry what they tell themselves when you're away

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything will be all right, all right

Hey, you know they're all the same
You know you're doing better on your own (On your own)
So don't buy in
Live right now
Yeah, just be yourself
It doesn't matter if it's good enough (Good enough)
For someone else

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything will be all right, all right

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything will be all right, all right

Whoo

Hey, don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out (Feel left out)
Or looked down on
Just do your best (Just do your best)
Do everything you can (Do everything you can)
And don't you worry what their bitter hearts (Bitter hearts)
Are gonna say

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything will be all right, all right

It just takes some time
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything will be all right
