Revs vs. Union :Match Preview

The Revs are in action tonight on the road to face the Philadelphia Union. Read who I am predicting to win this match.

The Revolution will be in action tonight on the road to face the Philadelphia Union at 8:00 PM EST at PPL Park. The match was originally scheduled for August 28th. The game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet, and you can listen to it on 98.5 The Sports Hub.

The Revolution( 4-11-11, 23 points), in their last match blew a two goal lead in their 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls at Gillette Stadium on August 20th. Milton Caraglio scored both goals for the Revs. The Union (8-7-10, 34 points), played last Saturday, and lost 2-1 to Real Salt Lake on the road. Both clubs will be looking to end their 6 game winless streaks.

On July 31st, the Union and the Revs met at Gillette Stadium. The Revs were completely dominated in their 3-0 loss to the Union.

Out: Stephen McCarthy (shoulder subluxation), Sainey Nyassi (MCL Sprain)

Players to watch for the Revolution are forwards Milton Caraglio andRajko Lekic. These two players finally got their first opportunity to play with each other in the Revs last game. This partnership could really start to pay dividends for the Revs. Caraglio scored 2 goals in his last match, and Lekic has 4 goals this season. If the Revs are going to win this match, these two forwards will need to play significant roles.

Players to watch for the Union are forwards Danny Mwanga andSebastien Le Toux. These two players can really cause problems for the Revs defenders, and will need to be contained. Mwanga has scored 5 goals this season with 3 assists. Le Toux has scored 4 goals with 8 assists.

The Revs season has been a disappointment. They currently sit in last place in the Eastern Division. However, they have a chance to end strong this season, as we could see a glimpse of the future with the partnership of Caraglio and Lekic.

The Revs have had extra time to prepare for this match, and I expect them to come out strong. I am predicting a 2-1 upset for the Revs against the Union.
