Revs vs. FC Dallas :Match Preview

The Revs are in action tonight to face FC Dallas. Read who I am predicting to win this match.

The Revolution (4-11-12, 24 points), will be in action at home tonight to face FC Dallas (13-7-7. 46 points ), at 7:30 PM EST at Gillette Stadium. The game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet, and you can listen to it on 98.5 The Sports Hub.

In their last match, the Revs blew a three goal lead in their 4-4 draw with the Philadelphia Union. FC Dallas return to play after their August 27th comeback 3-2 victory on the road against Sporting Kansas City.

The clubs met in Dallas on June 4th where the home team came away with a 1-0 second half victory. Marvin Chavez scored in the 69th minute to get Dallas all 3 points. However, the Revs played a strong match, and will be looking to break their 7 game win-less streak Saturday night.

Questionable: Otto Loewy (groin pain)

Out: Stephen McCarthy (shoulder subluxation), Sainey Nyassi (MCL Sprain), Pat Phelan (concussion)

Players to watch for the Revolution are forward Milton Caraglio and midfielder Shalrie Joseph. Caraglio has continued to improve at the striker position, and we could see him breakout with a goal or two against Dallas. Joseph is still a great central midfielder, and he will be counted on to control the pace of the match. If Joseph can feed Caraglio up front, the Revs might have a shot at pulling the upset.

Players to watch for FC Dallas are forward Brek Shea, and midfielder Daniel Hernandez. Shea leads Dallas with 10 goals and 3 assists. He is an up and coming player that the Revs could struggle to contain him. Hernandez is a former Revs player, and he will be a factor in central midfield. If the Revs can't keep these two players under control, it could be a long night at Gillette Stadium.

The Revs recently have continued to blow leads late in their games. However, in their last match, they finally played together as a cohesive unit in the first half. I can see them building on their last match against FC Dallas.

I am going with the upset Saturday night at Gillette Stadium. I am predicting a 2-1 victory for the Revs against FC Dallas.
